Day 62: Sparkstalker (Generation 2)

Here is Sparkstalker, a Decepticon Firecon Saboteur. Like yesterday's Flamefeather, Sparkstalker was a 1994 re-release of a 1988 design, released exclusively in the European market. He turns into a fire-breathing monster with friction-activated spark effects, made more visible in this incarnation thanks to a body that included translucent plastic parts.

Day 61: Flamefeather (Generation 2)

New for this year is this drawing of Flamefeather, Decepticon raid-planner. This 1994 toy is a re-issue of a 1988 Firecon, part of a team of robots that turn into 'fire-breathing' monsters with spark-shooting action. His '94 release was a European exclusive and finished in bright translucent plastic.

Day 70: Javil

From Japan comes Javil, another of the "Sparkdash" versions of the Firecons released overseas in 1988. Javil turns into a fire-breathing insectoid monster - his toy gimmick was a friction wheel that spit out harmless sparks. In the US, his design was named Sparkstalker. ( His Generation Two release can be found here ).

Day 69: Guzzle (Sparkdash)

Name reuse gets confusing between American and Japanese releases, as this 2019 entry attests. This Firecon was named Guzzle in Japan, even though in the 1988 US line there was a Guzzle on the competing Sparkabot team. This Guzzle was a repaint of Cindersaur, a 1988 US toy. As part of the Japanese "Sparkdash" assortment, he had a friction motor that produced a harmless sparking effect. In the  Super-God Masterforce  animated series, this design was a drone soldier in the series.

Day 265: Flamefeather

The third and last of the Firecons is Flamefeather, who turns into a "fire-breathing" bird monster. Originally released in 1988, he was  re-released in 1994 with a transparent plastic shell   that showed off his spark-shooting gimmick.

Day 264: Sparkstalker

Next in the Firecon line is Sparkstalker, a fire-breathing kaiju-like monster with spark-shooting effects. Released in 1988, he was  redecoed in transparent plastic  that better showed off his spark-generating works in 1994, exclusively in Europe.

Day 263: Cindersaur

Continuing the 1988 collection, today kicks off a run of Firecons -- small monsters with pull-back motors and spark-shooting gimmick. Cindersaur turns into a spiked reptilian monster. This design was redecoed in Japan to become a  Sparkdash character named Guzzle.
