Day 234: God Neptune

The five Seacon pirates from Beast Wars can merge to form God Neptune, who is a redeco of 1988's Seacon combiner, Piranacon. The five Seacon pirates were available exclusively in a boxed set in Japan in 1998. Note that the original Seacon time had six members, as the sixth could become the combiner's weapon.

Day 233: Halfshell

The leader of the Seacon pirates from the Japanese Beast Wars incarnation is Halfshell, a fitting name for an aquatic armored warrior who turns into a mechanical tortoise. Halfshell totes heavy duty reciprocating cannons on his back in both robot and tortoise form. He was available in a boxed set along with the rest of his pirate team in 1998 in Japan.

Day 232: Terrormander

Another of the Seacon pirates available in Japan as part of their exclusive extension of the Beast Wars line, Terrormander is a redeco of the 1988 figure, Seawing. Terrormander turns into a robotic manta sea ray. He was available in a boxed set in Japan in 1998.

Day 231: Sea Phantom

The next in the Seacon pirates from the Beast Wars series is Sea Phantom, a redeco of Overbite. Sea Phantom turns into a legged shark creature, and was available in a boxed set along with his fellow pirates in Japan in 1998.

Day 230: Scylla

Scylla is one of the Seacon pirates from the Japanese Beast Wars series, a redeco of Generation One's Tentakil. She turns into a kaiju-like walking octopus monster. She was available in a boxed set with her fellow pirates in 1998 exclusively in Japan.

Day 229: Coelagon

Bolstering the Japanese Beast Wars line in 1998 were redecos of the Seacons from 1988, this time done in a white, silver and gold finish and recast as space pirates. Formerly known as Skalor, he's now Coelagon. He turns into a coelacanth-like legged sea creature. He was available in a boxed set with his fellow Seacons.

Day 247: Piranacon

Emerging from the briny depths is the massive Piranacon, the combined form of all six Seacons. Like the combiners of the era, he is a "Scramble City" type, meaning the team leader ( Snaptrap ) forms the core of the body and the limbs are interchangeable. Adding a fun new wrinkle and tapping into another current gimmick is that each of the limbs has a 'Targetmaster' weapons mode and there's an extra limb in the team. So any one of the smaller Seacons can become a leg, and arm, or a firearm. In this illustration, it's   Nautilator   who's become the cannon. Piranacon could be assembled by collecting the team or by getting a gift set with them already in one box. He was available in 1988 and was redecoed 10 years later as   God Neptune   in Japan.

Day 246: Snaptrap

The last and largest of the Seacon team is their leader, Snaptrap. Like the "Scramble City" type combiner teams launched in 1986, the Seacons follow form with the leader being a larger boxed toy that forms the torso of the combined robot, while the limbs are smaller and interchangeable. Snaptrap was available by himself or as part of a Seacon giftset in 1988. He turns into a mechanical tortoise with cannons extending from his shell. He was redeco'ed in 1998 as part of the Seacon pirate team in the Japanese Beast Wars line,   and renamed Halfshell.

Day 245: Tentakil

From the 1988 Seacons, we have Tentakil, underwater demolitions specialist. He turns into a legged, octopus-like kaiju creature. The body was redecoed as  Scylla as part of the Japanese Beast Wars II pirate team .

Day 244: Skalor

From the 1988 Seacon team, here's Skalor. He turns into a coelacanth-inspired sea monster. He would be reissued in 1998 as part of the Seacon pirate team, though as a   different character named Coelagon .

Day 243: Nautilator

The next in the Seacon ranks is Nautilator, underwater excavations specialist. He turns into a mechanical lobster. He was available in 1988.

Day 242: Overbite

From the Seacon forces comes Overbite, who transforms into a legged shark. Overbite is the team undersea terminator, according to his bio. He was available in 1988. His body was redeco'ed in 1998 as part of the Seacon pirate team from Japan, where  he was named Sea Phantom .

Day 241: Seawing

Kicking off a run of the original Seacons with Seawing. The Seacons were a nautical themed group of Decepticons that were originally released in 1988, and then a decade later were redeco'ed as a gang of pirates in the Japanese incarnation of Beast Wars. Here is Seawing, undersea recon specialist, who turns into a robotic manta ray (albeit one with legs). He was reissued in Japan as Terrormander,  who I posted here .
